The Cabin

Small homestead at the lake

Love Story

A lot of people that I meet or know get a kick out of this story, so I wanted to tell you all. My wife was my first girlfriend in the 9th grade back in 1984. We dated for a while, broke up, & got back together one other time before finishing high school. Should have stayed together, but I was young & dumb.

Fast forward to 31 years later. She was never one that liked Facebook, but her son’s baseball coach made her get on it because that’s how he told the parents about practice & things. I was an over the road truck driver at the time & woke up one morning in California with a friend request from her. Couldn’t hit “accept” fast enough. We started talking on there all of the times I wasn’t driving. She would even drive a bit & meet me at truck stops when I got kinda close to home. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I had to change jobs so that I could be with her (was only home 2 days a month).

I’m the luckiest man on the planet. I now know what life should be. She blows my mind & makes me smile all day long every day. I hate getting up in the morning to go to work because that means I can’t see or touch her. There is no way to express to y’all or her of how much I love her. She is my best friend & so amazing. We have now been together almost 10 years & married almost 9 years.

So, what does this have to do with the cabin you say? Well, we built this thing together with what we wanted & are so happy with our cozy little place in the country. We are trying to make the place our little retirement spot. Til next time peeps.
