My First Loaf of Bread

Ok, I’m a huge sandwich guy…have always loved them. Many years ago I tried making a loaf of bread so that I could use it for my sandwiches. Thought that would be so cool. Searched for a recipe back then, got the ingredients & tried it. Had no idea what a pain all that kneading would be. Made it through all of that & chunked it in a loaf pan. Here is where I messed up, I didn’t realize that we had one of those cooking stones in the oven & just threw it in there. It looked & smelled great, but the stone made it hard as a brick.

Fast forward to this past weekend at the cabin. My wife found a recipe called “water bread”…it said you don’t have to knead the dough. I jumped right on that …lol. This was also a little tough because after the cabin sitting empty for three years, our oven no longer works. So, I had to use a small toaster oven. Well, it came out great. As I sit here at work writing this, my sandwich for lunch today is made with this bread. Can’t wait to try it today. Til next time peeps.
